Reference Databases

The Friends have sponsored reference databases for library patrons for several years. While they don’t sound very exciting or interesting, reference databases provide easy and free access to a variety of forms and assistance for community members. Suzette Davidson is the Reference Librarian, and can usually be found at the Reference Desk on the second floor of the library. She’ll be able to help you use these databases

Gale® Texas Legal Forms

The Georgetown Public Library offers the Texas Legal Forms database to library patrons. This database provides an easy-to-use, step-by-step approach to addressing basic legal matters. The topics cover a wide range, including adoption, divorce, real estate, leases, corporations, employment, wills, power of attorney designation, property sales, loans and financing. The Federal forms include business and litigation forms used in the Federal system, as well as, IRS tax forms. To find out more about it, click here.

Testing & Education Reference Center with Career Module

Another reference database that is available to library cardholders has a very long name: Testing & Education Reference Center with Career Module from Gale Cengage, referred to as TERC (pronounced turk). The Career Module of TERC has four key components: the Research Careers Section; the Resume Builder; the Virtual Careers Library; and the Career Colleges Search. It’s an invaluable tool for those undertaking a job search.  More details about it are here.
