Volunteer Opportunities

 

Friends of the Georgetown Public Library

Second-Hand Prose Workers are always needed from three-hour shifts. Volunteers sell the books, keep the shelves alphabetized, and sometimes shelve new titles.

Full-time or substitute positions are available.

FUND RAISING:  Volunteers needed to serve on the Committee and also for special projects.

PUBLICITY:  Committee members needed.  Duties include making copies, making posters or flyers and using the paper cutter.

HOSPITALITY:  Volunteer for special Library Events to prepare and/or serve refreshments.

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS: Work with the Children's Library staff members during story times, and other special events.

INTERNET SALES:  A new area of Volunteer need is our internet sales group.  If you have a strong computer background and an interest, please contact us.

Georgetown Public Library

LIBRARY VOLUNTEER:  Volunteers are needed to work in the Library.  Areas of responsibility include working at the check-in desk, shelving books and other day-to-day duties.  As a library volunteer, you will receive training.  For more information - contact the Volunteer Coordinator at the library.
